100 Word Challenge -Week#1
Welcome to the 100 Word Challenge!
Every week young people will get the chance to write a creative piece and share it with others. This is a weekly challenge for children under 16. You will receive a prompt of a picture or a few words then can add 100 words to write a creative piece. It is then published on your class blog and then linked here using the linky below which will be open until midnight on 14th September .
Last year we had some amazing writing and lots of comments from across the world. This is an opportunity for you to extend your audience and to help others improve their writing. Once you have posted you must go and read some of the other entries. Leave a comment that is polite but may offer suggestions for improvement.
Now to start the year your first prompt is:
…the one thing I’ll remember from my holiday…
You will all have lots to write about I’m sure but take care not to write a long list of everything you did. Chose one thing that was very special. Remember this is a CREATIVE piece of writing and you only have 100 additional words. You need to think carefully about the words you use so that they paint a picture for your readers.
I’m really excited about all the new schools that will be joining so welcome again and let’s get writing!
Note to teachers: If you have not got a class blog but would like to take part leave me a note in the comments and I’ll sort it for you!
