And so onto the resource sharing… First of all, I’d like to share with you “Building resilience in the face of adversity – the 4Ps of resilience” which is a paper I wrote which provides a simple approach to promoting resilience based on the (extensive and not at all straightforward) research literature. It’s a short read and easy to apply – I’d love your thoughts on it.
Next, an absolute gem of a website – mentallyhealthyschools.org.uk – it’s aimed at primary school teachers and provides links to all manner of fantastic resources to support children’s mental health. It’s the dream child of the Duchess of Cambridge and has been jointly developed by Place2Be, Young Minds, The Anna Freud Centre and the Centre for Mental Health.
Finally, I’ve filmed a few more videos since I last sent an email including:
- Reducing Exam Stress: Ideas for teachers and parents
- There is no right or wrong way to suffer from an eating disorder
- Understanding self-harm and finding safer alternatives
- My Mental Health Journey – the ups and downs of recovery (personal video)
And don’t forget you can now buy copies of my latest book ‘Can I tell you about self-harm’ – if you’ve already read it, please take a moment to review it on Amazon – only one person has so faAmazonthis makes me sad…
Best wishes to all of you and thank you for your continued hard work to make life a little better for the young people in your care. It matters, you matter.
